Billy The Dog Statue At Balmoral Beach

This is an excellent thing to do in Sydney. Balmoral Beach is really pretty & unique with lots of old big fig trees offering some shade along the promenade. The fig trees are a refreshing change from the Norfolk Pines at most other Sydney beaches.

The beach is split into two sections by Rocky Point Island (North & South).

There is a quaint old bridge over the sand from the promenade. The area is very popular for picnickers with awesome views over the water in all directions. A few shady areas are available

The Northern section of beach is fairly quiet while the Southern section is generally more popular. Snorkeling can be good around the Northern end of the beach or Rocky Point Island.

Balmoral Baths is a popular place for youngsters. The swimming enclose is U shaped with a large wide board walk around the perimeter. The kids jump from the elevated board walk into the water.

There are a few food outlets near the baths: The Balmoral Beach Kiosk or Balmoral Boatshed. Also Watermark Restaurant.

The full walk along the promenade from the Balmoral Baths to The Bathers Pavilion is really spectacular. The walk is flat, easy & takes about 20 – 25 minutes one way. The fig trees do offer sporadic protection from the sun along the way. There is another kiosk with basic refreshments & food in the side of the pavilion or eat at the restaurant.

You will see Balmoral Beach Rotunda. This rotunda structure & surrounding area is well used for weddings & wedding photos.

I would recommend visiting Balmoral Beach & I will be adding it to my top ten things to do in Sydney list.
